17 January 2005 - Canberra, Australia - TOWER Software, the leading Australian developer of enterprise content management (ECM) solutions, today announced that it had signed its biggest deal ever, an agreement with the United States Department of Defense (DoD) to purchase licenses, services, training and maintenance for its TRIM Context products.

Estimated at $US34.1 ($A45.2) million projected over five years, the enterprise software agreement covers the U.S. military services, Defense Department, intelligence agencies and the Coast Guard and their purchase of TOWER Software's ECM solutions to manage and secure their information assets. The deal was coordinated by HQ Operations and Sustainment Group, the U.S. Air Force's information technology procurement organisation.

"This agreement demonstrates the confidence that the DoD has in TOWER Software and TRIM Context," says Jan Rosi, President of TOWER Software North America. "The DoD recognises TOWER Software's ability to deliver enterprise solutions."

Further commenting on the agreement, TOWER Software's Managing Director, Martin Harwood, said, "This agreement strengthens the relationship between TOWER Software and the U.S. Defense Department formed from the work we have done for the U.S. Navy and U.S. Army.

"The U.S. Navy currently runs the biggest ECM solution in the world, with current deployment of 360,000 seats," said Harwood. "With this agreement, we expect the number of users of TOWER Software's TRIM Context solutions within the U.S. military and related agencies to exceed one million."
