TRIM Context 6 Kofax Xtension

TRIM Context 6 provides organisations the capability to provide both low  and high demand  imaging solutons.

TRIM Scan (low demand)

As an integral part of our ECM platform TRIMScan provides the capability to scan and capture information direct to TRIM Context 6.  TRIMScan is designed to meet low-end distributed workgroup scanning requirements and supports TWAIN compliant scanners. In addition to scanning capabilities TRIMScan allows

• Navigating Between Pages - You can navigate forward and backward between scanned pages by selecting from various options from the Page menu.
• Zooming - You can display a scanned image or a selected area of the scanned image at various magnifications by zooming in and out. These selections are available from the Image menu.
• Rotating - You can change the orientation of a scanned image by rotating it. To rotate the image clockwise by 90 degrees, select Rotate Right from the Page menu. To rotate the image anti-clockwise by 90 degrees, select Rotate Left from the Page menu.
• Fit to Window and Thumbnail Mode - You can reduce the size of the image to a thumbnail by selecting Thumbnails from the View menu. To fill the TRIMScan screen with the scanned image, select either Fit to Window, Fit to Width, or Fit to Height from the View menu.

TRIM Scan is based on Onstream technologies.

Kofax Ascent Capture (high demand)

Kofax Ascent Capture provides fast and reliable scanning of documents in batches, including optical character recognition (OCR) and intelligent character recognition (ICR). The TRIM Context 6 Kofax Xtension allows the easy capture of both documents and metadata directly from Ascent Capture into the TRIM Context 6 ECM repository. The TRIM Context 6 Kofax Xtension is delivered as a Kofax Ascent Capture Release Script, developed and supported by TOWER Software.

• Metadata Capture
  Metadata can be captured automatically through zonal OCR, for example for standard forms processing. The text in the form fields is extracted by Ascent Capture and written directly to the relevant fields in TRIM Context 6. Field mappings can be defined at the Ascent Capture batch class level, which allows an organisation to define different mappings for different forms.
  Metadata can be entered manually, if required, at Ascent Capture's Validation or Verification stages. Manually entered metadata can be validated against TRIM Context 6's control tables before committing it to the repository.
• Document Capture
  Scanned document images will automatically be stored with the captured metadata at the Ascent Capture release stage. Images can be transferred into the repository as *.tif, *.pdf or *.jpg files.
• Post-Registration Document Capture
  Many organizations decided to deliver incoming mail directly to the action officers, who read and register it and later submit it for scanning. This is made easy through the combination of TRIM Context 6's barcode printing and Ascent Capture's barcode recognition.
  Once the desk officer has registered a document in TRIM Context 6, a barcode can be printed for it. If this barcode is scanned alongside the document, Ascent Capture can recognize it and automatically release the scanned image by assigning it to the pre-registered metadata profile in the repository.
