Axxia to deliver 1.75m Project to Irish Prosecution Service

Axxia Systems has marked the New Year in style with the announcement that it has just won the largest contract ever in the company’s history.  IT has been appointed by The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) in Ireland to deliver an integrated electronic case, document and tracking system in a deal worth €1.75million.

Axxia fought off stiff competition during the formal procurement process to secure its most prestigious public sector client to date.  In response to the ODPP’s requirement for a scaleable, cost effective and flexible solution to accommodate current and future services, it will roll out its own case management system and TOWER Software’s TRIM Context electronic document and records management software.

Commenting on the contract award the Project Sponsor, Claire Loftus (Chief Prosecution Solicitor for the DPP), said, “This of a major change project for this Office.  The contract was awarded after a lengthy procurement process during which we carefully evaluated a number of suppliers on the basis of our very detailed requirements.  We have therefore taken every care in the selection of Axxia who were prepared to modify their standard package to meet our requirements.  It was essential that the supplier would work from the outset to fully understand our business and we can already see that Axxia are committed to his approach.  We look forward to having a new case management system that will enhance the working environment and provide us with key management information”.

Axxia is one of the leading suppliers of legal technology solutions to central and local government, with the Welsh Development Agency, the Commission for Racial Equality and the Army Prosecuting Authority all current clients.  While it has a number of private practice clients in Ireland, this is the first public sector use in the Republic.

Axxia Managing Director, Stuart Holden, is delighted to be partnering with the ODPP, “It is refreshing to see a public organisation examine what is already available in the market rather than trying to reinvent the wheel.  Too many IT projects completely overlook specialist expertise in favour of designing from scratch with the risk of overrunning schedules and runaway budgets.  The ODPP, by contrast and to their immense credit, have taken a good hard look at the legal landscape, examined close-up the tools in daily use by thousands of staff and elected to go with fully proven know-how, trusted processes and a supplier who understands precisely how they work.  For ourselves, it is probably the most significant and high profile win we have ever had and I hope it speaks volumes for the calibre of our software, service and staff”.
