Derby Hospitals to reduce paper with TOWER Software

NHS Foundation Trust Orders TRIM Context Electronic Document and Records Management (EDRM) System to Support its ‘Reshaping Health Services’ Project

Wokingham, Berkshire – January 30th, 2007 – TOWER Software today announces the addition of Derby Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to its portfolio of EDRM users in Europe. Through system integrator partner, LSC Group, the TRIM Context system will eventually support up to 7,000 users by managing all non-clinical documents across the Trust’s new £333m ‘Super Hospital’ and also improve access to information to support remote workers, such as Community Midwives.

As part of the Trust’s ongoing ‘Reshaping Health Services’ project, the system will enable a move away from paper-based processes, thus reducing the space and cost associated with the physical storage of files and documentation.

David Pearson, Head of IT Projects and Services, at Derby Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust explained, “The TRIM Context system will allow us to more accurately manage email and office documents to effectively manage our corporate documents and deliver the Trust’s business objectives.

Tony Sumpster, Managing Director for TOWER Software EMEA added, “This land mark was achieved following a competitive tender over a 12 month period. TOWER Software was selected for the strength of the application supported by detailed references from Staffordshire and Wiltshire County Councils where TRIM Context is used for initiatives such as electronic social care records and change programmes respectively.
