ice
ice provides zero footprint Web access to TRIM Context 6. ice has been designed to provide the best possible ergonomics to the individual information worker, while at the same time enabling project based collaboration.
Ergonomics for the Individual
ice is designed to make working with enterprise content as easy and pleasurable as possible for individuals. A lot of emphasis has been placed to make the interface intuitive and easy to learn and at the same time allowing each individual to apply their own information structures to the enterprise content.
Searching In ice
Searching for documents, people and other TRIM Context 6 objects is unified into a single search box. Users type in their query, and
ice evaluates it against all TRIM objects to return matches. This is consistent with the search experience of the most commonly used Internet search engines.
Drafts
Users can check out and edit documents directly from their browser, and save them back to the server. The technology behind ice means that documents always reside on the server – even when they’re being edited.
Labels
Users can label any piece of information that’s important to them and recall that information simply. Any object can be labelled – a person, a document, a folder. The labels allow the individual to apply personal groupings to their information without having to amend the enterprise content structures.
Active Labels
Active Labels are labels can be configured to modify records. Users can create shortcuts for commonly performed tasks by using active labels. For example, a user can create a label that sets the assignee to a particular person, and then quickly assign several records at once.
Smart Labels
Smart Labels allow users to specify labelling criteria. People and documents are then automatically labelled as soon as they match the criteria when they are created or changed. Mail Integrationice integrates with Outlook 2003 to allow users the ability to catalog mail directly from outlook into TRIM Context 6, without installing any additional software. Users can drag a mail message into an ice mail folder, to have it catalogued into TRIM Context 6 based on their preferences.
Project Based Collaboration
ice allows people working together on a common project to create a project team. The Project Team page in
ice will become the central point of contact for the team – hosting the latest documents created, contact details for all team members and other notes. Because
ice works through a firewall over the internet, it’s a great choice for allowing people from outside your organisation to work together – external contributors can be given access to the project team page, and contribute to authoring and versioning the documents – all the while ensuring that there is one authoritative version that is managed by TRIM Context 6.
